Amazingly, there are people who have devoted their lives to respond to crises. When everyone else is running away from danger, they gather up what is needed and run towards it.

Many organisations around the world exist solely to support people who are seeking asylum, escaping war, persecution or disaster.

They have thought of every possible way that they can help people survive and keep surviving. The process can be mind boggling.

Here are some amazing examples of ways that charities, not-for-profit NGOs and philanthropic compananies are assisting in the area of education and ICT in crisis zones.

The following link takes you to a video about volunteers who train specifically to go into emergency areas to bring aid and provide education. To do so is risky and dangerous but their commitment often takes them to different crisis zones around the world. Click the image to go to the webpage.

The next link takes you to the Save the Children UK website. It has two videos on the home page that demonstrate very clearly how urgent it is for Non Government Organisation (NGO) workers to go into crisis zones to find the children and bring them to a place where they can receive the help they need. The second video is especially inspiring. Who would have thought of a Donkey Library??
